There are no limits to the choice of surfaces... colour, touch and look... in high gloss, satin or mat... all are at fingertips.

The treatment of edges adds interest... As do juxtapositions... Sandpaper and brush alone are required to work up a storm of expressions and sensations...

Interesting how  iPad experiments (such as to the left) resemble working with pigments. It is a coming to terms with what a given pigment - or a shade selected on iPad - can in fact do.

The human mind tends towards the more radiant colours. And hence this little apple is far too bright. Okay, I thought. It may help to imagine this apple in the shade...!  The result was good ground work for  more muted tones of our furniture collection.

How did it come about? By layering those all too bright iPad colours as complimentary tones...!

And so the apple in the shade arrived... It needs a highlight - due even in deep shade...

Must do another test...
